In 1985 we build Beyond Facilities to be the production facility for Beyond 2000. The offices for the reporters, producers researchers were upstairs. Downstairs there were 4 Betacam edit suites equipped with Tascam 8 tracks for audio. We had a 16 track tracklaying room with a small voice booth, two music studios for Twilight Productions and this post production mixing room. The console was a D&R with an Otari 24 track. All tape machines had DBX noise reduction. There was also an MCI 1" video layback machine. The syncroniser was an Australian made Editron. I mixed 200+ episodes of Beyond 2000 and Beyond Tomorrow plus countless episodes of Jack Thompson Downunder, Extra Dimensions, Just For The Record and various docos in this room. I almost lived there.
