Mark
Paltridge, from the Sunshine Coast, Australia, (just north of
me), asked me to design him a studio in a shipping container.
Studio
Web Site
He had purchased a freezer version that is lined with stainless
steel and polyfoam style insulation, great for heat, useless
for sound. It has two ports at the rear for the freezer fans
access.
Interior
Dimensions
2.3
wide 7' 6"
5.7m long 18'.9"
2.12 high. 7' 0"

This
is the plan we came up with which gives a small booth and a
control room.

As
you can see the floor is open sliders so produce and containers
can be slid in easily to the back.

so
we stuffed it with insulation, added a layer of rubber, and
laid two sheets of particle board flooring sheets that have
a tongue and groove join.
The
framing was then built on this floor as an inside/out wall and
we used the original ports on the back of the container for
our ducting access with send one side and return through the
other. You can also see the ceiling beams that will support
the inside/out ceiling panels.

The
aircon unit was mounted on the rear of the Container as was
the power panel. With the addition of interior fitting out we
came up with this - the pink is Mark's idea :):)
