check it out first.
Now
we are putting up the frames for the booths. They are made up
on the floor and then stood into place. All frames are sitting
on strips of rubber 50mm x 12mm (2" x 1/2") which
compresses down as the weight of the frames increases.

Note
that the frames have the plaster on the outside leaving the
thickness of the
stud (70mm - 3") for the internal acoustic treatment. On
the left we are negotiating around the staircase to the flat
and you can see the other support pole. On the right the booth
walls are up and the control room wall is being added with the
door and window opennings.
..............
Now
the booths are taking shape and the control room and piano studio
walls are going up. Notice the other steel pole that holds up
the upstairs flat. We will box it in later.
.......
Next
the airconditiong ducts are going into the piano studio, the
ceiling rafters are going into place and the cooling units are
being installed in the roof directly above the studio. There
are three units - one for each room.
.......
Brian
has accused me of remaining mysterious so here goes...........
me
at my computer in the flat above the studio and having dinner
with Amirel's wife Yuko.
I should note that it is september, start of spring here, yet
we have eaten outside for the past month and had 25 - 30 degree
days when normally we are sitting around fire places etc. We
haven't had rain for 3 months and we are now heading into a
drought. Who knows what the summer will bring this year.
