Not sure if this is the right term or not, but I was thinking of building something like this for my low freqs build up.

Build a box 4" deep and maybe 3 feet tall by 6'8" long. Use a plywood back and seal all the inside corners with painters caulk. Fill the box with maybe 703 or rock wool and then secure a solid wood louvered door over the opening.

Place this on the floor directly behind the mix position.

Would this absorb the lows and trap them at the same time?

My thought is that the waves could go through but would have a hard time reflecting back out.

Any validity to this approach?

Joe

Hi Joe,

You need Ethan Winers RealTraps. Do it yourself bass and midrange traps. The plans are here www.ethanwiner.com/basstrap.html

Sorry it's not a direct link - can't get it to work for some reason!

Hope this helps

Cheers

Oliver
