Has anyone tried these: http://www.psaudio.com/products/powerport.asp

I can be a sucker for marketing but the information on them makes allot of sense to me and I am considering them for my place/

Looks to be just another isolated ground outlet, just 4 times the price of regular isolated ground circuits.

However, it's stating the connections are nickle plated, and a more snug fit on the plug.

Maybe steve will know a little more if there really is a difference.

Personally, I can't justify the cost of paying $50 a plug.

I rather spend the money towards balancing the power.

I the whole thing about non corrosion of the outlets seems to make more sense to me. I have been looking into the Equi-Tech balanced wall unit but they are sooooooooo expensive and I think they weigh too much for the walls in my facility.

Well,

You can install the rack mount versions and just utilize what actually needs it if you don't want one "Inline" w/ the main power.

Carl, I answered your question on the IGR's on the first thread you asked it - the Star Ground thread... I'm with Aaron on this one, a 16 dB reduction in noise floor is WORTH the $$$ they're charging IMO... Steve

Yeah. I see your point! I really want to have the wall unit so ALL audio gear outlets are covered. Just have to figure out now how big of the wallbox I will need.

I guess it's time to add up all the amps all your gear uses. Believe it or not, studio gear really doesn't use up that much. When I was over at the rental house, the entire control room was on one 20 amp circuit.

Now, once you get them beafy guitar and bass amps cranked up or lots of tube gear, then you start pulling some amperage. In most of the studios I've been in around here, everything had either been on a 60 amp or 100 amp box. That was all that was needed.

:D
