I was looking for general info on fibreglass panels when I came across a certain specification in their data sheet. It was a dutch website, so the dutch specification was "dynamischestijfheid", but I think it translates as "dynamic rigidness". It was expressed in MN/m3.

The link to the pdf of which I'm speaking:
http://www.isover.be/UserFiles/document/LB_Sonefloor.pdf

Could anyone tell me what the correct English term is, what it stands for and, more importantly, what it says about a given product?

Cheers,
Sigert

That is what translate.google.com came up with.
I used "dynamische stijfheid" and it returned "dynamic stiffness." Same thing right?

basically - how hard is it? the more "dynamic stiffness" generally the worse it is for impact noise attenuation. here's a definition if it helps:

Quote:
Dynamic stiffness (s')
An element resistance to dynamic loading is called dynamic stiffness (s'). A floating floor capability of attenuating impact noises increases with the decreasing of its dynamic stiffness. Floating floors with high dynamic stiffness values are poor impact noises attenuators! The dynamic stiffness is expressed in MN/m3.

Sorry 'bout that Glenn, I did not know it was the name of an actual element. :)
