My favourite bit of those pics (current thread) are the use of "egg cartons".
Love it!

yeah :) that and the thick carton below it, act as good high frequency absorbers, dulling the room and leaving it full of standing waves :P

Hey there! I't been some time since i've posted anything here. I've put the construction phase on hold for a while now and it has begun once more :D

So here are a few pics, we've demolished the wall, removed the windows, used an anti moisture material on the walls called mapelastic smart, and now we're putting down tiles.

Next will be the aluminium guy for the windows and doors, and hopefully i'll find a woodworker for the room in a room construction.

cheers

Hey Vakis! It's good to see some progress! I was wondering what had happened to your build. Glad to see it is moving forward again.

Here's an update on the studio building. The woodworker has began work and everything is starting to come together. :D
The building will be made with wooden frames with double layer of gypsum board, and green glue in the middle. Just a reminder.

As you can see we are finished with the tiling.

Also we've got new aluminium doors and windows on the outer structure. The windows have 1.2cm laminated glass, and on the doors there's 1 cm laminated glass. The glass on the doors isnt see-through, thats why it's thinner than the windows, it was the highest thickness of a non see-through glass we could find.

cheers.

The ceiling will be separate pieces, which we will attach one by one,(with lots of caulking between them of course).

There will be a metal corner bracket screwed on the wall, where the ceiling will be attached.
The studs of the ceiling that go along the top stud of the wall will also be screwed on. (hope i'm clear  )

We will first lift one side of the ceiling, put it on 2 corner brackets that are pre-attached to one of the walls. Then lift the other side (while the corners hold the weight of the opposite side) , and place it on a T shaped beam the woodworker made to temporary hold the weight, and apply the other 2 corners. Once the corners are attached to both the walls and ceilng, the extra screws will be placed where the ceiling's wooden stud meets the wall's stud.

This will happen tomorrow i hope, as the ceiling pieces have already been built.

cheers

Yeah, i'm gonna put about 60 LED spotlights along the perimeter of the ceiling in both rooms.

I might also put 2 main "bright" lights (fluorescent maby) in the center of each room to use when I clean and arrange things, stuff like that. The LED's light is more of a vibe lighting.
