Interior walls are up!

You'll see a light in every picture. I had to walk around with a flashlight because I don't have power yet and it was already dark. It was pitch black in there!

File comment: These clips were used for the joists because it would have been such a tight spot to nail the usual way.

File comment: Joists are as close as they can be to the ceiling for more ceiling height. They almost touch but I moved the closest ones to the ceiling and they all move free.

File comment: This is the garage insulation that's sticking out of the bays a little bit. The interior wall studs are lined up with the exterior wall studs and the paper just lightly touches the studs in a couple places.

I hope we did the star grounding correctly. Since I'm required to have 2 ground rods, one ground wire goes from the main ground bus to the ground rod. Another ground wire goes from the main ground bus to the star ground bus. A third ground wire goes from the star ground bus to the other ground rod.

Can anybody confirm that this is correct?

Still looking for confirmation on my grounding system.

Meanwhile...

Doors!

Doors are special ordered through Lowe's. They were made by Barnett Millworks out of Mobile, Alabama.

I used spring loaded hinges. Hopefully they'll be strong enough to close the doors tightly.

Whoo!

Thanks Charlie B.

I have a good friend that plays in a couple of tribute bands out in Houston. He plays in Already Gone, an Eagles tribute and Abbey Rode, Beatles tribute. Check 'em out if you get a chance. The're really good!

Riff,

I was wondering if you are planning on adding more mass to those doors?
If so, have you thought about if those hinges can take the weight?

Also, I found your friends facebook site for Already Gone and am going to try to see them in Houston this Saturday night, Mar 26th.

BTW, which one is he?

I wasn't planning on adding anything to the doors. I'm going to try them the way they are and see how it works. Fingers crossed.

My buddy's the bass player.

Those doors are solid core, right? Not hollow or foam filled?

Yep, solid core doors. All hardware will be surface mounted. I figure it'll be the weakest point in the room. Hopefully they'll b enough.

Mini split installed!

It's very quiet, and I think it looks really cool. It's an LG Art Cool

Everything should be finished this week.

File comment: Drain is just an 18" hole in the ground filled with rocks. Installer said there's no maintenance involved. I'll probably just keep the weeds from around it.
