great!

what do you think about doing the one-frame-walls with 3-4 layers of gb on one side only instead of doing "normal" one-leaf walls with 2 layers of gb on each side?

thanks
simon

you're better off with the 2 walls and 2x layers. the single mass takes you only so far, but the mass-air-mass will take you further.

ok understood :D

this is what i came up so far in means of wooden framing. it's all 60mm x 80mm wooden studs - a carpenter suggested this to me.

walls labeled "B" and "C"
the frames will be anchored with bolts into the ceiling and floor concrete and into the walls they touch.

wall labeled "A"
the frame is anchored to ceiling and floor and is not touching the wall i share with my neighbour. i could imagine to even keep it clear of the brickwall that goes to the outside (right end of wall "A") if necessary. leave a small gap and caulk it?

please have a look as i'm new to framing a plasterboard wall. the door and window locations arent 100% decided yet as i don't have a door yet and i'm not 100% sure where exactly i will be sitting so these two might change slightly.

in the pictures i framed just the first leaf of the double-walls (that will be deviding the room, labelled "B" and "C"). i will build these, put the plasterboard up, backer-rod and caulk and see what isolation i get before i build the second leaf.

you could have wall B go almost to the outer wall (say within 5mm) and fill that with caulk bead and caulk.

yippie - so i'm not so stupid after all 8)

but then again i might be stupid anyway because i don't know what you mean by
"caulk bead and caulk"?

to fill the gap do you mean to put something in and then caulk it?
i bought plenty of backer rod - something like that?

thank you
simon

In the separation wall, make two walls of plaster of 16 mm with 3 on one side of each (two leaf) and an air space between layers of plaster good.
