So I was just looking through some of his designs and made some observations. Obviously he is a brilliantly gifted architect and sees the bigger picture in his mind when designing in spaces that are perhaps not always ideal. He has the knowledge to know how to get around compromised layouts, and finds solutions to still make them great sounding spaces.

One thing that I am puzzled by though is in many of his designs there seems to be a real lack of bass trapping. Especially in smaller rooms where the need for bass trapping is great.

Take this design for example, though it is obviously simplified and we have no idea what the walls are constructed of, I see very little room for bass trapping.

I was just wondering what anyones thoughts are on this? I can imagine designing rooms like this, bringing them to the forum and being told that I do not have enough bass trapping or the room ratios are not ideal etc etc, but John is out there building great sounding rooms and is a leading professional in his field.
