I went shopping this morning at 800 am to purchase the patio doors (5- 72"x 80 Patio Doors) for the studios.

I left by 1030am with no doors, after we had trouble loading them into my trailer rig- and then the flatbed truck I rented in a last minute Hail Mary pass....what a fiasco. But hey---you screw up, you adjust. It's just like mixing.

Solution? I having 4 of these doors delivered Monday by pro deliverers in a BIG truck and I humped one home on my Dad's truck tonight, for a few reasons- we were a little nervous about getting them into the studio's door) never thought that they might not fit in the buidling- but no worries...we got them in-just fine! A little KY goes a long way....jj

We'll install ISO B's sliding door Monday night and I should have some update pixs. Gotta get Studio B functional at some level as I have some actual audio work I have to get started week 2 of June. Geeez. I thought I was gonna have something going by April 15.

Floor Leveling is 94% finished.- nearly ready for carpet treatments. Got that really cool commercial stuff with the 1/2" neoprene backing on it.

Hey Guys,

The electricians were in there Saturday getting sconses and switches in there. They are a little over half done or so.

Today we had the Sliding Doors delivered and we installed the first one into ISO B. It needs to be finished out with trim...but its in there. R.O. worked out-thank God.

Tomorrow I aim to install the sliding doors that seperate B Control and Studio, Put some covering on the Bath floor and reinstall the toilet. If we get that done, I start hanging some Sonex in ISO B, as I have to get ready for some Commercial Stuff in Week 2 of June, and I am slammed mixing ESPN stuff all over the country.

Well, we are heading towards the finish line now mates...whatever that means...

Today we went out and got 7 solid core 6'8" x 3' doors, frames and hardware. Got one installed and poly'ed.

Also got the threshold for the wall between Studio B and Control B "more level" - it took three courses of leveler: Well see how well it does tomorrow. Hoping to get the 2nd sliding door installed to close off Control B...trying to get ready for some commerical work soon.

Also got 8 - 4x4 pieces of Sonex installed up high (over 7') in ISO B. 3m High Tension Glue is awesome!

Also got the bath floor demo'ed and fresh lin floor glued down and new wax seal/bolt on the potty.

Lets see what we get done tomorrow.

Today was another good day....my wife came out to help, so that was fun.

Finished up one of the sliding doors that seperate Studio B and Control B. It's a double sliding door, so before I install its mate (the other door in the opening), I'm gonna wait and look at it a bit.

Got four more of the door jams installed for the 6'8" doors. Hoping to get a friend out to help install those four doors tomorrow.

Gotta make some carpet decisions tomorrow too.

Wellllll...we are partners and that one of the ways she chooses to show me that she loves me. I can speak "woman" and she can speak "man".

And she likes to keep an eye on me.

Good day today-me and the wife all day again. (sharward drools)

Got 1" neoprene underlayment glued down to the floor in ISO B. It's starting to tighten up sonically, but it aint there yet.

Get 4 Solid Core Birch doors installed. Stud/Control A and Stud Control B/ Bath...That's now a total of 5 up. Only two more to go (office and front door-sound lock).

Got those frames Caulked and 1st coat of poly on the new doors. They are pretty.

Mindy got the 12' bathroom painted (second coat) and nearly installed the new pedestal sink.

Gotta make some carpet decisions tonight.

Sorry Sharward; Mindy helped again today...3 days...I think indentured servitude is in my future.

Got some more work done in the bath today...nearly done short of decorating in there. I am planning on putting the BIGGEST mirror I can find in there ~for the musicians, but I havent found it yet.

Cleared the floor and sealed some of the outer studio wall/floor joints with spray polyurethane "Great Stuff". Looks pretty good.

Electricians got in and installed a few more tracks overhead.

Cleared the floor in the lobby and corridor for carpet install...

You realize that has is really wimpy stuff, right? It may seal up air holes but there's not sufficient mass in that stuff to work well in studio applications!

There were a few areas in the lobby where the distance to the ceiling is more than 12' high...the ceiling is level at 12" but the old warehouse floor varies in some areas, which left a few small gaps in the lobby- outlined in red in this picture.

I filled the gap with the foam and will finish next with USG Non Hardening Acoustic Caulk. Then I will install 25lb hushstep underlayment and commercial carpet in these areas of the corridor and probably vinyl cove that will be caulked, over these edges.

I wonder if I was to use a wide tape, like flashing tape to cover these edges-I wonder if that might give us an little extra insurance?

PS On the interior walls of the studios where the wall floor gap varied, we filled it with durabond and then I applied floor leveling treatment to create a new hard corner where floor meets wall.
