heres some shots of how i made the corkscrews that i use to hang the panels...

i used just a normal roll of ceiling tile wire hanger...
cut to length, twisted (as uniformily as possible) into a cork screw,
made a double loop for the hanging part and
screwed it into the edge of the panel... (carefull not to poke through ...)
and the 703 panel wrapping...

i made both 2inch and 1inch panels last night... both were done in identical fassion...

started by laying the fabric out, cut the length so that there was roughly a 3" overlap onto the back of the panels.... (so the easiest way of cutting is to actually wrap and then mark your panel (then you can take measurements and cut all of the fabric if need be)...

then, panel and fabric lined up, glued the edge and back of the panel w/ 3M super77 (
then spray for fireproofing!!!!

the middle panel in the picture was a demo model, where you can see the hooks (were pretty sloppy...) so i upgraded that in my corkscrew design to two small loops... much cleaner
thats it...

and....

so, the tracking room is sounding tighter already with half of the panels and no bass traps (yet to come)...

and the control room is quiet and seems balanced... theres a slight ring in the mid range... but i haven't gotten close to doing tests...

not exactly shameless self promotion... rather the first official full length "product" of the year + construction endeavor and maybe give a glimer of hope to those who are going through it now...

this was about year in the making in the new space (thats a year of recording after a year of construction :) or so)...
www.samlamont.com "Prominade"

so, ultimately, i can post a few pictures of the studio, however, I thought it only fitting you could "hear" it. feel free to contact me with questions or comments.

I will post a few additional pictures soon of the final final version, as I just got a new camera :) but, i just wanted to really say thanks again to all who helped me make this possible... IE all of you guys.

cheers!
sandled

If you are still around here on the forum, it would be great to get some photos of the finished studio! I'm putting together a list of links to finished studios, and yours is on it... but the thread is sort of incomplete without a few final photos to close it out.

OK, as promised... better late than never? These pictures will be just in time for me to begin my second forum thread, where I start discussing Sandledfoot Studios, ver 2.0

I want to say many many many thanks to John, Stuart, Gullfo, Rod, Eric, Steve, Andy and many others who have put time and effort into helping others work on and achieve their dreams. This was the first version of my studio, and hopefully i'm going to be able to start my second, permanent home studio soon. I again will rely on the generosity and knowledge of others to help me along, in that respect, I'm greatly thankful, and looking forward to the next journey to begin!

cheers,
Kevin
