If you're going to use solid wood as a face, then yes you need openings preferably near corners, like top and bottom - I would "filter" these openings with heavy rockwool, line the rear/sides of the trap, and fill the rest with alternating, herringbone pattern of hangers. Sort of like this -

Keep in mind that for later 5.1 work you may get some bad reflections out of that 90 degree corner from your right rear surround speaker, so it might need some kind of gobo during 5.1 mixes... Steve

The hangers are already made. As far as the corner, I plan to eventually add a 2" machine into that corner. The wall will be treated w/ 703 & cloth in the corner. If needed, I could make a panel that would fit over the entire opening for 5.1 mixes.

Update... I've finished the corner bass trap. Hopefully picking up some drywall today to finish out the control room back wall and ceiling and maybe the soundlock.

After that, I just need to finish out the soffit walls, then it's time for the flooring, glass and doors. Oh, and HVAC of course.

I'm so close, yet so far away. :D

Oh, BTW I hope to have new pix next week.

And here's the latest update for today...I might have pictures posted before the weekend. So check back later today or tomorrow.

OK, I finally was able to round up a truck and picked up some drywall, just not as much as I wanted (especially when your getting 12 foot board).

The back control room wall is finished (except a little mud & squirtin' a little caulk in the cracks)

The second layer is done (except about a 4" strip) in the sound lock entering the CR. Oh, and ceiling.

And I've put 2 layers on the 2nd wall between the CR & live room.

So hopefully by the end of the weekend, I'll have the ceiling finished in the Control Room. I just need to hang the RC next, stuff a little more insulation, and we'll be ready to roll. :D :D :D

Film is being developed right now as we speak. It'll be ready to pick up in about 10-15 minutes. Then I'll need to scan and shrink the pix. So give me a couple hours. They'll be posted today! :D :D :D

And I haven't decided if I'm going to keep the burgandy at the bottom or not. These pix don't really do justice. The top is actually more green than blue. Give me opinions if I should change out the bottom color fabric.

Awesome pix man. Its really coming together. Is that burgandy color on the bottom fabric over the drywall? If so, what advantage would it have over paint?
