It's "Sharward"... And no, it's an image I stole off the 'Net. ;-)

So you have fiber running direct to your location???? Hmmm I need that. At 50/Month, thats peanuts.

Geezz O Pete...

I remember when looking at a DS3 line 3 years ago was gonna cost me 500/month. Prices have really come down. And they would have to install an interface on the pole just for my services. LOL.

Bear in mind that my fiber connection is provided by a company that competes with both the incumbent telephone company and the cable company.

For the record, I bite everyone. (I'm just being proactive!)

Of course, when my house is under 26 feet of water (i.e., roof totally submerged) due to levee failure, I'm sure the fiberoptic connection won't work very well. (And neither will my room -- although it will probably take on the water the slowest of all the rooms...) But I digress.

Update:

Just finished the 703 & fabric on the walls in the other soundlock. Finished another section on the left side of the control w/ 703 & Fabric.

This is great being online at home. Just don't have much time to surf w/ all this work...

Here's the fabric on the ceiling in the sound lock, and the trim ring for the light...

Good Afternoon everyone.

Just thought I'd pop in and ask again about an earlier question I had posted and got no reply...

Anyone have info about building an echo chamber?

I'm considering building one in that hole I hadn't back filled yet behind the retaining wall. It would be a perfect spot for it.

Rough dims: 50 feet long, 14 feet wide, depth varies from about 2-5 feet roughly.

Thanks. :)

I guess I have to answer your question with a question of my own: Why? I would think you could get much better results much cheaper if you used software plug-ins. The problem you'd have with building your own is that it's not controlable. All of your echos would have the same characteristics on every song.

In order to vary the echo (in "hardware") you'd have to be able to vary the length of the chamber AND the dampening (so you could control how many returns you got.

Are you sure you're not thinking of a reverb chamber? Again, with software, you can get much more control of the signal and for a lot less money. I'm thinking of an SIR convolution type reverb.

Why Not.

Everybody and their damn plug-ins.  It's items like these that sets you apart from everyone else.

Actually, it can be controlled, but yes, it can be limited.

Yep. That's part of what I'm asking about. Any ideas?

It would be nice to have both. But I've got a reverb plate (big plate).
