John Sayers' Recording Studio Design Forum

Hi, let me first say hello cause I am new to the forum. I found this forum at the right moment, thanks to google.

Well, I have a space in my basement that I would like to construct a home studio. The space measurements are: w 12' x L 21' x H 7' the floor and the walls are made of concrete and the ceiling is open. I would like to have a control room and a vocal / studio booth. I am really new to this so please be very detailed with me. I downloaded the sketchup software but I don't know how to use it yet and I am learning it.

Firstly, before anyone beats me to saying it, read the forum stickies. These can help you understand the basics, as well as forum guidelines such as filling out your profile.

Also, this post should be in the Studio Design forum. I reccomend putting it there and you'll get a lot better response as this Construction forum is mainly for studios which have been designed and are in the middle of construction.
