Hello, and thanks for this great forum!

This is my situation.
I will be given a room in a studio complex if i can get the leakage down between my room and the studio under me. I don't have have anyone on any of the sides of me, so i might not have to build a room within a room?
The layout of my room is not yet decided(maybe one of you could help me) But it will be a control room, but it would be great to be able to record some stuff there to. But the main concern is the leakage through the tick(20cm-30cm) concrete floor. And I think I need about 30-40db of reduction, but the more the better.

My room is on the top floor (6 floor) in an old building. It's about 6.8m long x 5.5m wide x 4.5m high at the highest. There are a some problems.

- I'm not able to add more then 5000kg of weight to the structure.
- I'm on the 6 floor without a elevator. So I'm going to have to carry everything up.
- There are two poles in the room that sound travels through from the studio below.
- My budget is about $3-4000
- The studio below tracks a lot of drums, about 4 days of the week.

Here is what I've been thinking after reading a good deal. Building a new floor on top of the existing concrete floor like this from top to button.
laminated flooring
2 layers of 1/2" plywood with green glue between
2" of 65kgm3 mineral wool, ish the same as 703
and maybe 2 layers of plasterboard green glued for extra mass.

the new floor will not be touching the walls, but i will be making it airtight. But I'm worried about the walls. where 3 of the walls are concrete that is connected to the old floor.

Do I need more then the new floor, do I need to build a room within a room?
Do i need to build the poles in to something? And how?
Any suggestions are more then welcome:)
Is there a better solution on the floor for me? Something like this Floating timber floor (http://johnlsayers.com/Recmanual/Titles/Acoustics3.htm)
Were would be a good place in the room should i set up my mixing station? I just have no clue in this room.

Here are some pics and layouts:)

welcome! you might measure the the levels with a contact mic to determine what is happening with the floor and the pillars and other parts of the structure to see what amount of sound is being transfered. the damped membrane floor is a good approach and you might have to build something around the pillars to also isolate those. if the rest of the structure is ok from an isolation perspective, then just treating the space should do it.

OK, i'm past the floor problem:) Now it's the control room on top of the new floor.

So here is what i'm thinking(see pics).
But i have a few questions, so here they are.

1. How does it look? Something I would be wise to change?
2. The monitors are dynaudio bm15a, they have a lf trim on the back that can start a cut at 300hz and goes down to 50hz 6db down. How will this work in a softmount? And how does my softmount design look? Is it better to lift the speakers higher and angle them down?
3. The angles of the side walls is 12*, is this a good angle?

Thanks
