Hi.Before 2 years I started with my studio project.Because of limited budget it took me so long to came to this , how i call it, sweet problem :) In SketchUp ( v6) is made studio layout for my studio and you can dowload it from here if you want to.
Im faceing with the problem of the ceiling and spekaer placement in the control room.
Because of small space in control room, I dont know should I use angled ceiling or flat, should I make angled walls in it or flat.
I know that if I make all walls and ceiling flat that I can corrects reflections and sound with some treatments on the walls but just because, maybe I think that I suffer from, lets say, perfection I would like some clever suggestions from you guys who already know how things should be.

There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible.
The announcement leads to this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will most likely not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.

Sorry. I didnt have a clue about that and I'll do as you said.

I just want to give you information more that this studio is in a village and first neighbour is 50 meters close so I think that I will not have problems about how loud music will be. :/
Im preparing to invest less than 1000 $ 'cause of limited budget for now.

if you have the option to angle the long wall with the window between the CR and larger room, you should do so. i would use angled clouds in the CR for the ceiling.

I was thinking about angled clouds too as a solution for ceiling but now Im 100% sure.Thanks.
Now this about angling long wall between Cr and larger ( LIVE ) room I cannot do cause its already made( flat ) as you see on the Sketchup photo.Wall is insulated well enought with Mineral Fiber insulation and 2x with gypsum boards on each side so it has STC of 45.
If I angle him in CR maybe it would be better option?
Or I could angle speaker like it's on the picture?

Im thinking about constructing floor in CR as you can see on the picture and same thing ( only counterclockwise ) on the ceiling ( Mass is a friend ) . All this + angeled wall ( only in CR ) as you said , in my opinion , would be ideal acoustic space in CR.

Probably not necessary. Floating a floor is hard to do right, and isn't usually necessary.

What is your floor made of right now?

Also, how much isolation do you need (in decibels)?

You could angle the side treatments then in the CR. If you don't have to angle the monitors then don't.

Right now floor is made of concrete.
Wall between CR and Live Room has STC of 45 ( i think thats 45 decibels, correct me if Im wrong ) and for now this is enough.

It's not really the same thing. STC is a rating for wall isolation that does not consider low frequency sound, such as bass guitars, drums, keyboards, and other instruments. STC is more about isolating speech, and is not really a useful measure for talking about studios. Decibels of transmission loss (TL) is a much more useful measure.

But anyway, you say you have roughly 45 dB of isolation, that this is good enough for your needs, and that you have a concrete: In that case, you don't need to float your floor. Just leave it as concrete, or maybe put some laminate flooring on it, and treat the rest of the room.
