Hi there,

this is my first time posting, so I hope I'm doing it right :D
First off, this forum has already been very helpful. So thank you guys very much!

I'm looking to build a control room/music production studio that keeps out most of the noise coming from the live/rehearsal room. I also need the room to be acoustically fit for mixing and mastering. I want the room to have a sweet spot which is truly sweeeeet. I'm especially concerned about what to do with the low frequencies in such a small space. Luckily, I have no neighbours to worry about so I can go as loud as I want :yahoo: (stupid smileys  )

At the moment I'm still in the planning fase. I'm trying to work out if what I want to achieve within the space is feasible.

The details about the existing structure:

- It's on the second floor/top floor
- Concrete Floors
- Concrete brick walls (if I'm not mistaken)
- Metal roofing plates

More than a decade ago the previous owners built a rehearsal studio.
I'm guesing all the walls are built with a single wooden frame, with wooden plates on either side the the frame on a floating wooden floor. It is a box in a box design except for where the windows are :? The design isn't thought through very wel, so the room is far from sound tight. But it'll do for now.

I want to build the controle room in the front part of the structure, which is now used to store instruments and drink coffee.
The space I can work in is 3,91m long 3m wide and atleast 3m high. In the picture it is marked as a red rectangle.

I want to avoid tearing down the frame work of the rehearsal room to keep the costs as low as possible. If had more time and more money I would definitely redesign and reconstruct the whole space. But I don't. I do have a reasonably flexibel budget. I want to do the job properly for as little money as possible. Say around 3000 euro's.

At this point in time I only have three questions:

1. Is what I want te achieve in this space feasible?

2. If it is, how do you recommend I achieve it?

3. If not, how much more space do I need at a bare minimum?

Cheers
Tom
