I have obtained several (8) sheets of tempered glass that is overall 1" thick, 37"x57". I was planning on using this to build windows in my studio space following Johns Recording Manual Drawings. I got this glass for free (im trying to use MOSTLY recycled/repurposed materials when i can) from a elementary school demolition so im not attached to it by any means. Its very heavy! Upon further inspection i see that it seems to be 2 sheets of 3/8 put together, so technically its an insulated glass panel i guess?

If i were to use two of these in a window would it work? O should i just try to find two Monolithic pieces?

One of the demo crew guys put a few sheets on craigslist if you'd like to see a picture.

When you say "... it seems to be 2 sheets of 3/8 put together, ..." do you mean that there is an air gap between them, as in double glazing, or do you mean that they are stuck together with some type of interlayer between them, as in laminated glass?

It seems to be an airgap (i think?), i dont think its laminated...i dont know if those pictures above are of any use to you, i'll try to take some new ones if that will help....im guessing the airgap makes it similar to a 3-leaf wall. hope not
