I just picked up a couple more disposable cams last night. I wish I had a digi-cam, I'd post more pix and more detailed at that. Anyone know where to get a reasonable cam for small $$?

How small $$$ ? For this stuff, anything beyond 1 megapixel is a waste - if that's all you'd use it for, you can get one for about $40 -

Beware of so-called 1.2 megapixel CARD cameras - that's software interpolated, it's really .3 megapixel... Steve

I believe you're referring to the difference between optical zoom vs. digital zoom.

Think of "optical zoom" like using binoculars, and think of "digital zoom" like enlarging an image with Photoshop or whatever program you wish.

Obviously, enlarging an image with software does not produce image data that is not already captured... It merely artificially enlarges the data it already has.

Therefore, when comparing digital cameras, always ignore any references to "digital zoom." It's meaningless and serves mostly to pretend to be as good or better than other cameras in the class.

Optical zoom: good. Digital zoom: worthless.

Agreed; but this is actually DIFFERENT - I read descriptions of the cheapie "card cameras", and they say that the resolution is 1.3 megapix "software interpolated", actual was like 300k pixels on one, a bit more on another... Steve

yeah, that's just like back when scanners were first introduced to consumers. Many of the cheap ones boasted 4800, even 9600 dpi resolutions, and actually those were 600 or 1200 dpi scanners that interpolated the results.

OK, let's return from the hijacking. Back to studio biz...

I was considering Cedar as trim, but last night I had some white pine at the house, and some wood stain, and it looks pretty damn good. One heck of a lot cheaper than oak or cedar! Only problem w/ pine, it's a soft wood. But, I think we'll manage. :D

Southern YELLOW pine is used for flooring, I think it's pretty hard - no idea how expensive or what it would look like stained, just a thought if the softness bothers you... Steve

Here's the latest... Assembled some of the bass hangers over the weekend. I decided to skip the vinyl step, so we'll see what it does. The MDF is a mixture of 1/2" and 3/4" boards at varying widths & lengths.

Finished the one wall in the Iso booth, but not sure if I'm going to keep the lower section of cloth (actually burlap I had left over from another trap at the old place). A friend of mine says it clashes.

Here's a Q... The bass trap, after I hang the bass hangers, and place the board over the opening, should I cut a hole on the bottom, top or both?

:D

Need some kind of sketch to follow what you're planning - what kind of board, etc... Steve

Not sure if I should use 3/4" ply that I have or maybe some MDF. Here's the corner...
