OK, here's the latest as of last night. Took all these pix last night to make up for all the work I've done recently...

These are the CR ceiling...

It's hard to see, but I notched out the 2x4 about 1" to recess the panels...

Here's the assembly of one of the removable panels that will soon have fabric. I ripped 1x4's into 1" strips for the 1" 703, and a support on the back so it doesn't push out...

There's a piece of 703 sandwiched between the little gap. Then I just need a longer Threshold to cover it.

Okay, THIS I need to know!!!

how do you connect these walls to make it sealed. i can't find the answer to this question on this thread.

That is PERFECT!

thank you so much.

I wasn't too sure whether "insulation would be enough. However when they say "insulation", they say:

"cut sheets of fibreboard to the shapes and then glue thin fibreglass to it. Then you can wrap cloth around it for aesthetics and glue it into place. It is also a good idea to drill 25mm - 50mm (1" - 2") holes in the fibreboard in which you can put the silica beads"

I can't really picture this. would it be similar to simply put Neoprene over the gap and seal it?

And best thing about the info, unless I stand corrected, it's all by Sayers.

Hello Pantalaimon,

If you could, resize those pix. I'm having to scroll on a 19" screen. :(

Looks like Carl has got you covered on the question. I still haven't put my doors in yet, so I'm trying to figure some of these things out (windows & doors) without shorting. I'll probably be buying some 1" oak stock and custom cutting it for a saddle, etc for the threshold.

Gotta run, been slammed at work lately...

Hi Aaron

I think i'll take a leaf from your book and leave it till i have my floating studio done.

i must take this opportunity to personally thank you for those pics. i saved every single one and printed em off so that me and me dad could study them.

i'd just like to let you know that it was YOUR room pics that altered our whole construction and now we are a lot more happier with what we are building. we have possible upped the STC by 23 dB by using LESS materials.

going out tomorrow to get 30 sheets of 19mm planking.

thanks
