Thanks for the encouragement guys. It turned out way better than I expected, although there's a pile of "test" cuts...and recuts.

Just got a call from the dock this morning...rockwool is ready for pickup!

More pics on the progress soon. 8)

Rockwool arrives! 8)

I found it somewhat interesting to note that somehow this part of the process wasn't as enjoyable as the framing part. Hmm, come to think of it, neither was lifting those 4' x 8' sheets of mdf. Hats off to those of you who have done the full process (several times even?) and have survived to show the rest of us the way.

Congrats on your AFB arrival! Looks like you're "dressed for the occasion" per se! :lol:

Looks like it was a pretty tight squeeze in that pickup truck! :shock:

It kind of reminds me when I loaded up my old convertible (since sold) when I was building a fence two years ago! Not pictured: three 60# bags of concrete in the trunk! :lol:

I borrowed a friends real truck for the actual fence boards a week or two later! :twisted:

Ah those lovely Green Batts.. Glad my local Supplier Delivers.

I carried the 1st few batts then they told me delivery was free. LOL Let me strain and struggle.

While we prepare for rockwool installation, I thought I'd toss this one out. My wife & I were comparing which looks better: cloth over the frames or behind.

Your thoughts, gentlemen?

Found a source in Kona to get 4' x 8' sheets of some really nice veneers for the bezels. I am leaning toward a light maple to blend with the wall unit (also light maple) and cloth.

I'll bet it looks even better in person -- the flash on the camera is probably illuminating the timber behind the scrim, and you probably can't see it at all under normal lighting conditions! :mrgreen:
