I realize this is a bit late with this kind of feedback . . . . . . but I can't help but think that you would have been better off not putting drywall on the inside of the hallway between the rooms, and instead, putting that layer of drywall on the inside of the rooms, with a separate wall dividing your office/lobby space from the rest of the studio...

So what would I cover the walls of the corridor with?

Gotta have the corridor to get to the bathroom at the back of the studio...per the Building Inspector.

Huh? Are you proposing that there be no corridor?

No comprehende.

I'm proposing (or, rather, Monday-morning-quarterbacking) that the halls would not have had drywall on the hall side -- just exposed studs. In other words, all the walls would be single leaf walls -- the hallway would have served as the "air" in the Mass-Air-Mass equation.

Yes, the isolation within the hallway would have sucked.

Then again, that may not have been acceptable, given the fact that anytime a door opened, the isolation would have sucked in the rooms that had closed doors.

My "single leaf walls" with the hallway acting as a sound lock might have been OK for rehearsal studios, but perhaps not for your situation.

Onto floors and doors.

Yeah -- "piccies, or it didn't happen" (as was often said on Paul Woodlock's monster thread at StudioTips)!

Yeah, and think that his thread started on that forum one year after he started!

First time I saw his excavation photos, I knew I was witnessing the extreme end of the spectrum, and that I would never go so far myself. Yet, in some ways I ended up doing a "mini Woodlock" in that I did do an excavation in my garage and pour a new slab! The differences are: size (mine's much smaller), depth (his is much deeper), and type (he's floated a slab -- I'm just doing an isolated slab on grade). But still, what I have done wasn't easy, wasn't quick, and wasn't cheap!!

I have been mixing a bunch of self-leveling floor treatment-and prepping the rough spots in the floor. 18 bags of 50lb each...joy.

Electricians are also in installing fixtures and switches.

Trying to get ready for doors...
