Nothing can compare to old time effects. If your looking for vintage sound what better than an original effect :D From what i read and listened to people are starting to go back to the analog sound. Using effects, tape machines and the like. Only way to get the true warmth. By the way studio is looking awsome!!!!!!!!!! :)

Ahhhh...Yes. The sweet natural sound of analog. That's why my intentions are to get an analog console, and a 2" tape machine. But will still have the ability to do digital recording and editing. The best of both worlds.

Thank you.

your very welcome. i get a mag called MIX every month and there is alot of talk about the fall back to analog. they are tracking using "outdated" equipment and methods but mastering with protools and such. alot of music you hear now, you can hear the the sweet fuzz of anolog  i hope to have my project going soon, using basement the way it is now to record demos for a couple of young bands. what money i get goes into the build fund 8) . keep up the good work, cant wait to see completed studio.

Update...

Not too much done in construction, but have been running all new wiring and new sensors for the alarm system in the studio. Ran new smoke detectors for each room, since all rooms will be hermitically sealed, and needed a smoke detector in each room. Among those, also been running wires for PIR's, etc.

For obvious reasons, I won't post pix of the wire runs for security, but that's what I've been doing the last couple weeks (or weekends). Ran about 850 feet of cable for the new runs.

That's the latest news...

:D

Negative -- I need a detailed schematic.
In fact, upload it to my PDA, Chloe.
Testing... 1... 2...
I'm going radio silent now.
Out.

OK, finally finished the wire runs for the alarm system updates. I'm changing over to another service, so they'll be here tomorrow to install the new main panel, expansion modules, and touch screen LCD keypads... New gadgets!! I can set it up to run automation for lights too...maybe I'll wire the display cases for that purpose? We'll see...

I see we hit 94k today. I never would have guessed I was headed into such a project 3 years ago. It's gone from idea to reality. But a long ways to go yet...

I'm so burned out, I'm taking a "me" day, relaxing, listening to music, and just flat out chillin' today.

Started pulling nails from some of the hardwood floor I acquired. Trying to get it cleaned up and see how much of it is reusable for the tracking rooms. Don't know if I'll have to buy some or not?? I was told it's about 1200 square feet of it (which would be enough to do the entire basement), but it's hard to judge in it's current pile.

BTW Sharward, that's been a great show. Anyway...

Sorry I hadn't been on much lately everyone. As I mentioned earlier, been busy or tired, and this heat wave...it's been cookin'.

Enough rambling...

Aaron

Another day in the life of...

Well, this morning brought another taxing, wallet eating, unfortunate, life as we know it...Doah!

Going through a green light, and the person in front slammed on the brakes to a complete stop. Couldn't stop in time...

Sorry to hear (and see that) Aaron...
Man, if anybody's got determination it's you...
A studio "3 years in the making" and you're still going???
That speaks a LOT in itself... From what I have read in your thread "you keep takin' a lickin', but bro' you keep on tickin'...

No doubt you'll survive this too...

Oh mannnn... ...Sorry to hear about that.

I hope nobody was hurt. It may be too soon to tell on that.

My wife was rear-ended in January. It's not fun.

I've got a little whiplash and a headache that's been bugging me all day.

I'm going to hurt like hell in the morning though...

All that happened to her though was a bent bumper. A couple hundred bucks. Mine is over 2k in damage... :(

Do not take a hot shower or soak in a hot tub -- it will worsen the condition tomorrow.

Do take Ibuprofin (Advil, Motrin) -- it will lower the inflammation. The sooner you take it, the less you will become inflamed. If you wait until you become inflamed, it will not work as well.

Do apply ice -- not so much so that it is really uncomfortable (which could make things worse). Even better: a bag of frozen peas -- they hold the cold longer and mold to your body contours. Get two bags so you can alternate them.

This is the advice my wife received in the emergency room the day of her accident. Take it! :)

I guess it's good you told me. I was going to take one before bed to loosen up a bit.

I took a BC powder this morning when I got the headache, but my back is already hurting, and muscles are stressed.

I'll know in the morning, but chances are, I'll have to go to the emergency room and get checked out.

I might have a muscle relaxer in the cupboard. If not, I know my neighbor does (he's got a bad back).

I would suggest pretending you're totally injured right now and act the part -- go lie down and relax everything.

Otherwise, consider going to the ER now so that you can get your muscle relaxants and such before you're in major pain.

Don't take OPD (Other Peoples' Drugs).

Hang in there.

Well, I shouldn't complain. My girlfriend (soon to be "wife", in about 5 weeks 8) ) takes her drivinglicense test today.... hope she makes it so she can drive ME for a change.

Take care Aaron, and some rest....
