OK,

I'm in the design stages of wiring...finally. In addition to the existing patchbays in the console, I need more for tie lines, outboard, etc. So here's a start on the bay layouts...

Update: Slowly been hanging the first layer of drywall in the 2nd tracking room. Hung a couple more sheets last night.

I had an HVAC company come out yesterday as well to give a quote for the duct work. I should see that by Monday, but his rough ballpark could be $2500-3k. Yikes! Well, let's see what #'s they come up with. I'll be getting a few more quotes for sure. I'd like to be able to do this by the end of the year if possible.

I still need a replacement transducer for the plate. The Soundcraft is a Series 2400. 36 channel X 24.

On those bays.... are you going to isolate the mic line one from all the others as far as position and grounding goes? My understanding of this suggests that it would be bad to even have that bay in the same vicinity as other line level bays for crosstalk reasons, mic level being SO much lower.

Thoughts?

I've never had any issue's with tielines/mic inputs on a bay in the same vicinity as all other bays. If the engineers designing these million dollar consoles such as SSL, Neve, API, etc can have it in their consoles, I don't see any problem, nor have I experienced any problems in the past.

I'm not running amplified signals through the bays. Line level yes, but not amplified.

Didn't mean to sound so blunt on the last post. It's Monday morning and I hadn't had coffee yet!

Anyways...update...Finished the first layer of drywall on the walls in tracking room 2. It's been taped, mudded, and sealant around all corners, etc. Ran a little electrical last night for the wall in the entry area.

It's all lookin' good. Walls are now defined for the most part. Hopefully I'll see that quote today on the HVAC. Need to get a couple more quotes and see how much this is going to set me back...

That's the latest...I'll post pictures eventually. I'm still offline at the house since I moved in the console last week. But will get them posted soon.

Aaron

Happy Holidays everyone!

Well, just in time for Christmas...the 2" machine is rolling into the studio this afternoon. I'll take pictures, and maybe get back online at the house so I can post the pictures.

Catch y'all later...

Aaron

The 2" machine is in. Just needs tweaking. Randy Blevins didn't have time to get to it Friday night, so maybe late in the week he'll get a chance to align everything.

I have pix, and I just connected my computer back up, so maybe this evening I'll have new pix for uploading.

Aaron
