NO WAY you're on my nerves!! I'm glad someone's watching and checking me, it makes me think twice!!!

Where are you in Alabama? I have a friend, Reggie Duncan, who has a small studio in McComb, MS. He uses a studio in Alabama, I think, to make music tracks for some of his artists. He brings all the tracks home, does the music mix, then tracks the vocals. He is a Master of the steel guitar as well. He records steel tracks for studios all over the country.

Still pecking away at my build. Smashed my left pointer finger Saturday. The entire nail had to be removed, and broke the bone at the tip. Makes working interesting!

Ouch! Been there, done that! I have more injuries from my build than I have had in the last 10-15 years. Good luck, and heal quickly!

I hope that's the last time at least on this project!

Had a good day Saturday. When I demo'd the old Vinyl Soffit off my house, where the addition was going, I saved it in a shed. I pulled it out Saturday, and hit it with my special "Vinyl Siding" cleaning concoction!
1 Gallon Bleach
1 Cup Simple Green
1 Gallon Water
Cleaned up that 17 year old perferated vinyl soffit like new. My wife asked me to finish out the soffit on the front side of the house, so of course I did! Picture forth coming!

Gustov Aftermath....

I am blessed!! Compared to a host of other people in this region! It amazes me that once the levee's DIDN"T fail, the media was not interested in Louisiana! Gustov was the worst storm in recorded history in a huge section of the state. We have folks that will be without power for several more weeks, with temps in the mid 90's, and about 80% humidity, not to mention the bugs and pissed off snakes! We had a guy in my unit bit by a water snake 2 nights ago!! The snake had crawled up into the unit, and when he walked by, it bit him! Anyway, I'll post a few pics of my damage. Lots of cleanup work to do, along with roof work, but overall, I was spared the worst. A lady was sleeping during the storm about 2 miles from my house when a tree came through the roof and killed her in her bed....I am blessed!

I have about a 80' Oak tree to deal with. I'm hoping a buddy will remove the stump for me!

My neighbor across the highway had these 2 huge oaks go down, plus 5 large pine trees go down in front of his home. Fortunately they all missed his house!!! (You can see the tree roots in the distance.)

Storms like what we have this time of the year come and go at my house with mixed emotions. Worrying if it is coming our way and guilty relief when it passes us by.

Gustav devastated Cuba and had politicians rethinking schedules in front of one of our Nations largest mass evacuations. Thankfully for everyone in your state it was not as severe as Katrina.

I am certainly glad to read that you and your family are doing well.

Hi guys...NO I haven't quit posting!! My job has kept me busy for too long!! I've been pecking away, a few hours here and there, but nothing worth mentioning. I took this week off to try and complete the outside of the studio's patio area. Jimmy B., piano player extrordinaire, and a friend of mine, came and helped me put up the long ceiling pieces. Probably tomorrow, (he's doing the prep work) I will give him a day installing wood flooring. (Laminate) I'm hoping another friend comes through this week with a metal break so I can install the final few pieces, and then it will be on to the inside!!! A few pictures of the vinyl installation to follow soon.

I also must mention my Brother-in-law Chris and his son Michael who have helped several days too, and as always my bride of 28 years, Kelly, who's support has made this dream possible.

Looking good James, hope all the repairs went well. Hear the working bit keeping you away. In times like these, it's good to be working. Looking forward to new updates.

I plan to add fiberglass insulation between the rafters, then 2 layers of 5/8 sheet rock as my outer leaf in the attic. My concern is the top of the walls, above the top plate. My outer leaf at that point will be the fiberglass and 2 layers of sheet rock. I have to leave an air gap to allow air to flow through the pink rafter mate. Is this acceptable?? If not what are my alternatives?
