Hi to all you guys from this lovely and inspiring forum of master John Sayers and all his friends.
I haven't been here for a long time and I carry great memories from the time we've build my first garage studio in 2001 with great help of ser John..
Right now, I'm in a middle of great challenge of building my new and much, much bigger studio..
My attention is focused on designing those 2 rooms (control room and recording room) and acoustically treating them..
This time I'm sending you the drawing of the studio space (all dimensions are in cm) ..
So I will update this forum with the moves we make with John in order to inform you how the story goes..
All your thoughts and ideas will be welcome..

"Thanx" for all of you
Funky

I think that those dimensions I have are in CM (centimeters)..
I think that "M=1:100" means that..
The space has 240cm height.. (2,40M)
Those blue boxes are the windows that are present in the rooms,
and between the control room and recording room you can see a big glass
window that is already present there..(208/162cm) and it starts from 65cm up from floor..
I hope that John would make a 3D plan of the rooms soon so it would be easier to see those measures in the space..
I just need that recording room to be devided and to design a space for a vocal booth, and the rest to be open space for live tracking of drums, amped guitars, brass and strings sections and etc..

See you soon
Thanx everyone for help

Funky

Aloha Funky,

Looks nice.
Can you tell me how wide that wall is (in feet so I understand it) directly behind the monitors in the control room? What are the control and live room dimensions now (in feet!) and how do they sound so far? The CR seems rather small, as mine will be, and I'm concerned. What are your treatments in the CR and how is you stereo imaging and translation going?

Hey Funly,

thats looks like a pretty awesome setup u have there. How do you know which right materials to use and how much of it? Also if u don't mind me asking, what was your budget?

I'm looking to build one myself it will be my 1st studio and a budget of $30,000AUD. It will consist of main mixing/control room plus a vocal booth for starters then it will progress into a bigger setup.

Also, I see alot of studio designs with the backwall corners having curved off corners, is there a certain reason why that setup is prefered?

thanks mate all the best to u :D
