Wow, I'm sure The Aloha Guy will be flattered to have his name in the thread's title. :D

Congratulations on taking your first step! 8)

I hope he is!

I was very impressed with his modular/removeable design, and took my inspiration from his CR.

Here is the floorplan -

I'm really happy to hear that it was helpful, but the credit really goes John. It was through this forum, the SAE site, and his wall unit plans that there is any to show in the first place, and to Steve (Knightfly) for providing the much needed guidance right from the begining. Thanks for the kind words and sentiments, though! :D

Aloha 8)

Share the credit, Kendale. I was inspired (and frightened half to death ;-)) by Paul Woodlock's build, which he couldn't have done without Eric Desart's guidance. You may not have been the one to come up with the story, but you certainly told it well. 8)

Did somebody say pics?!?!?!?

Here is the old CR. The desk is on the left wall in the diagram above. It's kinda messy, I was getting everything out of the room besides the actual desk....

Aloha,

Your room cleaned up real nice and neat! And it looks like your assistants did a great job on the flooring install. More pics, please! :D

Yes, excellent job on the floor! 8) That goes for all of you!

Is it fair to say that you're only concerned about acoustics, and not concerned about isolation? Because the way you seem to be going about this, you're not doing anything to improve the isolation capabilities of the room...

Yes. Acoustics is my main concern. Isolation would have taken major construction, and I am hoping to re-locate soon. As with Kendales design, this is totatally modular, and will be movable to the next location and adapted to the new room farily easily. Also, it leaves the room able to be returned to it's "normal" state.

Top half of the traps/soffit are in. I'm going to put 2" 703 in between the two halves which will put them 1/2 from the ceiling.

My trip to Lowe's.

Got a $500 custom 36" door for $100. Whoo Hoo! Two sheets of Birch Plywood for the front of the soffits, lights for my "cloud", a bunch of 2x4's, and some 5/8" rock.
